I know this seems like a silly question, but I am new at this...

What is the port on the side of the 2v intake just below the carb opening?
It comes off at a 90 degree angle and points straight up...

Mine is banged up pretty good and I was wondering what it was for...

In Adams post recently on the engine he was cleaning I can see it runs off somewhere but where????

Is this where the PCV line is supposed to run???

That's the coolant line (return, I think). PCV is at the base of the carb.

So the coolant return line runs through the intake to help heat the carb?

Like the breather plate for the 1100 on the stock US 200.

Can I bypass this, or should I run through there?
Won't the choke suffice?

Sorry to be so brief before. Yes, the coolant does run through to control the temperature. We reckoned it helped keep cool in summer running, rather than warm in winter (no part of Australia is especially cold).

If you hook it up, you might want to do it on a separate line with its own tap. That way, you can evaluate its benefits for your application.

Adam.

Hey, Jimbo,

To quote from Tom Langdon, of Stovebolt Engine Co., "Cool carb, warm manifold". The plumbing is to provide constant warm temp to manifold to keep fuel from condensing on the aluminum. This gives better charge, more even burn, more power, etc. The carb choke is only for start-up, of course; the manifold heat is for drivability.

Later, Kinky6.
