Hi,
What else is out there that is decent besides acl race series? i am using 200 rods in a 250. are acl race series cast or forg? is there any forged pistons available?
has anyone gone down the line of custom pistons? if so how much am I looking at?
thanks
Brendan

cross flow motor ?

as i understand it the use of the 200 rods with a 250 stroke requires the use of low comp height pistons - 1.169" - whereas the std compression height of all the ford sixes is 1.52".
the diff being taken up by using a longer rod

ACl are the only ones i know that make a piston with this low comp height - and its an aust ( Nz?) ford six only application
all of which limits the available choices.

so i guess if you are after something different the only other choice would be custom pistons - which would make the acl 's seem cheap by comparison .

plenty of speedway people use these acl pistons - so my guess is there's nothing wrong with em .

maybe a bit of a non answer but dont think you could go wrong with the acls

- is it a street motor ?

did you check acl's website ? - says they are cast.

http://www.aclperformance.com.au/6MKRY9412.htm

also says they dont make the flat top any more.

i beleive a set at trade price is about $500 and retail $750

acl also do custom forged $$$$$

really custom forged pistons don't run much more in the US than the ACL cast pistons. prices are around $120 a piston for a "stock" forged slug (no pin inserts, coatings, or other fancy machining)

hi,
motor is precrossflow looks like i will just run the acl race series kit. Thanks guys.
