Where to find an Autolite 2100?

Where do you guys find your Autolite 2100 carburetors? I have read of guys picking them up at swap meets for $10, but I never see any. All I ever see are $200 rebuilt carburetors. Is the $10 carb a fantasy?

I found a 2150 at a swapmeet last Fall for $10, it is missing a couple small screws, but nothing I can't take care of at the local hardware store (or from one of my other spare carbs). But mostly I find my for cheap or free through the old boy network. Join some local groups, talk to the guy down the street that looks like he has his own personal junkyard. They popup, never when you need them, so you have to stock up when you find them.

Check out http://www.gottafishcarburetors.com. Strange name but I have bought 2 carbs from him. He will advise the correct CFM if needed and i have not had any problems with his rebuilds. I believe he engine tests them before shipping. He sells for around 200.00 on his Ebay store, but to me it was worth it. He stands behind his work too. He also sells parts. Hope this helps.

I have a rebuilt 2100 I bought from gottafishcarbs, 245 CFM, with automatic (not electric) choke, have replaced the power valve with a lower vacuum rated one, but still have the original power valve. Ran the 2100 on my 200 for several months, but it's going to be too small for my "new" 250 with the aluminum head. If interested in the 2100, let me know. I'm in Houston, Texas.

Thanks
Bob

I've used gottafishcarburetors 3 times for 2100 series 2 bbls and couldn't be happier. Good source for reliable carbs done right!

If you have some patience, I will find you one for less than $200. You are going to have to rebuild it yourself, but the carb itself will have a more reasonable entry point..

$200 for a 2bbl, I just don't know what to think about that.... its crazy in my mind..

"...its crazy in my mind..."
& ur mind is not on the Right or Left Coast,
as said B4 "everything 10 yrs old round here goes straight to the crusher"

It's like some folks think they're selling gold bars...
the junk yrds look like those rental storage bldgs (another weird
development on the coasts) all perfect lines, organized anally,
clean grass between each vehicle...

may B the cities are that way? Chicago, Denver? what can U tell me?

I remember an early development (late '70s?) was "I'll put it on 'the line'." The guy
@ the yard would use a phone line, keyboard, or CB (can't remember if I ever did see what they did). And later he would tell you "It's on it's way from...(U guessed it, the HeartLand)." Mailed in 3 - 4 days later was ur frnt end prt or whatever. Now I can look it up myself on my "google machine" (who gets it from flee-bay...who gets it from...yup, East Fly Over, Colorado)! But still, priced outta my range.

Chad, go to the Lincoln Nebraska Craigslist
http://lincoln.craigslist.org

And search for just the word 'Bronco', I think you will be pleasantly surprised.. there are quite a few getting parted out down around Omaha..
These are all the same guy, but you get the feeling that he has quite a bit of spare parts for sale.

And yes, old cars live on the plains too, just not the ones I am currently searching for, which would be an old ford Crew Cab ('67-79) and the Early Broncos ('65-76). But I don't *need* one, so I am not ready to overpay or make a huge road trip for one (yet).

ford '73 - 9 is my fav all time "any pick-up"! body style. (A HighBoy would B the ultimate!)
Thanks for the links ('puter seems down now - been on 2 hrs in another window stuck in a job application - dial up on a poor line really sucks).

I'm jusss lookin 4 a "low rise" 1 V (may B from a 300/4.9) to put on my 250 so it'll fit under the bronk hood.
When the rain stops I'll try ur links, should 'go thru' then.
Thanks again, AND!
thanks so much for helpin the other guy awhile back, w/ a nice carb...

They can be found, but they are rare.

I've got 3 in my garage that I picked up at random places for about $50 total. I rebuilt them and then never used them. Reminds me I need to sell them.
