I think a valve spring is broken on my 1963 170. It's in a falcon with about 68,000 miles on it. Where can I locate new springs to buy? Thank you.

that's odd, I haven't seen a broken valve spring on a stock motor before.
Anyways, you should get new springs quite easily at any parts shop.

any of the small ford sixes 144-250cid springs are fine, though there are some differences in spring pressure between the different displacement engines. 289-302 V-8 springs work as well, but have even higher seat pressures.

Mike stocks them all as well, stock, 289, 302 and special dual springs and dampner springs.

Have you checked out the valvespring 101 in the Schjeldahl bros.' falcon performance handbook?

I got new vavle springs from oreillys (bumber to bumber) you can check to see if theres a store near you on there web site. oreillyauto.com there like 3 0r 4 each. but if you replace one you should replace all of them. other wise the rest are weaker then the new one. the retainers are hard to find. i lost one so i'm on a hunt for one of those.
