Where to get best parts?

I am down to the last bits and pieces of putting this 200 all back together and trying to get it to turn over. The thermostat, temp sending units, fuel pump, hoses, fuel filter, distributor vac. advance control and such have sat around in my garage for 5 years---so my thought is to replace them all along with new fuel lines and etc.. I know there are places like NPD, Virginia Classic Mustangs, Dallas Classic Mustangs, Oklahoma Classic Mustangs etc..that sell this stuff---but what about just going to my local Oreilly's they seem to have most of it and my waiting time would only be a day or two for those parts they have to locate and get in. Are those parts just as good...the fuel pump is questionable---autozone says the one they have only puts out about 2.5 to 4.5 lbs of pressure---don't we need at least 7lbs. on these slightly built 200's for adequate fuel delivery?

ive been running a napa fule pump on my 250 for the last 3,000 miles and it hasnt given me a problem. it was like $15-20 and another $3 for a filter

That is a good price. My experience here is that Napa is usually quite a bit higher. I did get the fuel pump though---at an Oreilly's for $21.66 including tax. Not bad at all---not a motorcraft or carter but something like AirTex. Hope it works...I will probably end up getting an electrical fuel pump like others here because I am running the 2300/500 holley, but I think it will be fine for breaking in the new cam.

The thing I like about Napa is that they usually have parts no one else has and I have gotten good deals compared to what dealerships wanted for those items. I had a 2 year old spec. edition cougar once with an airpump that Linc/Merc Ford wanted $200.oo for and another $100.00 to install. Heck it was nothing but 2 bolts and a pulley...But no one else had it cause it was about 3 inches longer than on any other model.. Called a Napa way out in no mans land and got and installed it myself for $65.00.

I found my versailles 9" bearings and seals at Napa---and no one else had them at the time, they even had the caliper rebuild kit. I never knock a good auto parts store but I do look for the best deal for the money

yeah I like napa's stuff. my pump was one of their ganaric brands but like I said I trust their quality on stuff like that. I went there yesterday to get break shoes for my cutlass, they had a unopened returned set That I got for $1 !! My uncle is an employee so I get the discount too :D I did forget to mention the puralator fule filter i got broke off of the carb some how and I had to spend a 1/2 hour trying to get the threading out of the carb. luckly that cheap metal was so soft a screwdriver could dig in to it to spin it out.

If you have a lot of parts to buy at once, try www.rockauto.com and it will be worth the shipping. They have brand names and usually several levels of quality to choose from. They are also very good about returns and will usually just give you a credit or send another if it's an inexpensive part that isn't worth shipping back. They did that with a motor mount I bought.

I bought a bunch of parts last month and decided to compare their prices to the local Schuck's. RockAuto was $171, Schuck's was $226...saved $55. Also no sales tax.
