hey everyone here is my question...

for upgrading to a 2bbl carb am I better off going with the carter webber
electric choke carb or a holley weber reman carb??

i have a 67 mustang 200ci strait 6
auto trans and im putting in a 264-dhs cam

(sorry I don't know about the Webers)

Hmmm...at the moment I'd go with a Holley 2V.

Why?

Any parts for it are readily available and thru learning curve you can tune it to match Autolite's economy, which gives better MPG at first glance. But, by trial and error, help from your vee-eight guys (who have shelves full of 4V Holleys and lots of spare parts like acc cams, acc pump nozzles, jets although always too big for a six cyl application) and the fact that Holley is more tuneable you can make it work better on your engine. The Autolite is a good carb but on a slightly more modified motor I have found that it is hard to setup the Autolite to handle all the situations. Well, it calls for extreme things like guitar strings to tune the Holley too...

This is based on my experiment (constant tuning of 2Vs for a year now) and other people sure have other advise, plus advise on the Weber stuff.

I don't think the choke will matter after all; I have run electric choke all the time with no problems. General driveability lurks elsewhere.
