Which headers are better-- Clifford or FSPP

I need some help choosing my headers. All I have ever heard about was Clifford. I know that their headers come with a Port Divider.

(1) Is the Port divider worth getting there header?
(2) Does it really make a difference?
(3) Does the hot coating last on the FSPP headers?

Also, I have a 65 mustang 200. If I go with FSPP which headers should I get?

i have had both headers and sold the clifford headers and kept the the pacemaker from FSPP.

Quality goes to fspp
Fit was perfect
the jet hot coating will last a very long time and will extend the life of the headers. looks similar to chrome but doesnt discolor.

Go with the FSPP - you won't be sorry

for overall coolness factor and performance, the dual out headers with a dual exhaust from a v-8 car seems to me like the best choice. You don't necessarily need loud mufflers either; nice, quiet dual 2" mufflers will flow way better than the stock single muffler did. If you buy an off the shelf kit you can install the entire system yourself, except for a small amount of fabrication to make the final connection to the headers. Should be able to get a good deal on that.

Go with Mike at FSPP...I have the Pacemakers and couldn't be happier. I made the mistake of not getting the port divider the first time. When we pulled the old head to install the new 250 we noticed that without the port divider the exhaust gasket was really getting chewed up. It wouldn't have been much longer till I would have had an exhaust leak!!!

As far as the Jet Hot Coating...Get it! You won't be sorry...

My 2 Cents worth...

The jet coated Pacemaker from Mike is great. I have had mine on for over a year and they still look new. As for the port divider. I tried epoxy to hold it in. Well it came apart shortly after that. I took it out and have had no problems what so ever. And no real noticeable power loses.

Is the epoxy to which people refer what I used to know as JB Weld?

Also, do the FSPP fit without moving the A/C?

thanks,

yes on epoxy...and dont knopw...but you do have to specify high or low mount starter

FSPP are by far better. and that INCLUDES far better customer service

if you go with clifford, we wont say we told ya so....

Looking for kits to go with the obviously superior pacemaker headers, I came across one with Hooker Super Comp header and Dr. Gas crossover kit with Dr. Gas spin trap mufflers at Mustangs Plus.

At $650 it might be more cost effective than Pacemaker w/dual exhaust kit, unless the kit is overpriced! The crossover kit itself is $190, and adding mufflers to that . . .?

Any thoughts on the Hooker Super Comp?

Don't know about that header, but there is pretty good evidence that you don't need the crossover in this application. No discernible power gain. if you look at NPD for exhausts you will find a nice aluminized dual system with turbo mufflers for $174. Part # 5211-30k. Hard to beat

With Flowmasters (read: loud droning on highway - not as cool as you think  ) The cost goes up to $316.00.

They also carry the Walker brand system for about the same price.

Since this is a daily driver, just a little bit of grunt off takeoff is all I'm after. The drone would get old quickly!

Thanks for the crossover info. I had wondered how much, if anything, this would add.

you could get the jet hot pacemaker headers (dual out), then run a 2-2 1/2" dual exhaust with some flowmaster hushpower 2's. should sound good without being annoying.

Hooker 6601 headers are now availiable from mike @ http://cquesttechnologies.com/fspp/products.asp?cat=61
They are jet-hot coated & look fantastic. The hookers have a 1 1/2 primary pipe 38" in length leading to dual 2 1/2 collectors. They have more low end torque than the shorter pacemaker headers. The pacemakers will produce a small amount of more top end power. both headers are top quality & are jet-hot coated. more power to you William

If you want the port divider, you can buy it seperately from Clifford. There is a lot of pros and cons on whether or not they are needed. I don't know if they make that much difference in HP, but I do feel they help prevent gasket failure. At least by all the comments I've heard from my customers. Best to have it welded in, if you can.

Thanks for the referals guys. 8)

So for a daily driven Fox body (looks like a low mount to me, not sure thogh) what do you suggest......... or heck what fits? stock for now, but not for long ;)

The new header I designed and am having manufactured will fit - low or high mount starters, just about (if not all) models, and will have the same great starter clearance as the Pacemakers. They are taking much longer to produce the prototype than promised, but I hope to have them in a few more weeks. Price will be similar to the old FSPP headers, but the quality will be better.

Cool man I will keep watch on your site and when they are ready I defiantly want one.

ok, man I have a question for you so the new dual outlet will fit any right? If so do you have any idea at all when and how much they are going to be? I would like one ASAP so I want to make sure I have the money.
