will 109* LCA hurt a turbo motor

I'm thinking about getting the Isky 262 supercam for my turbo 200 build, it is 262/262 .445 lift ground on 109* LCA, would that hurt a turbo engine? I know most turbo engines go for 112* or 114*. I put the # thru my dyno program and the HP and torque curves are pretty smooth, but that's just a program.

You'll probably have too much overlap. You end up blowing all that boost straight through the open valves and out into the compressor where it will burn adding more excess heat than the turbo cooling system may be able to handle.

You will have a loss of power compared to an equivalent cam with wider LCAs and you may have less reliability. It's not accidentasl that the only SBF cams that Crower grinds on a 114° LCA are turbo or supercharger specific (and no, they don't show any grinds for the Falcon 6)

I checked valve overlap on my dyno program and came up with 44, found most all of classic inlines cams are better than the isky ( hadn't looked that closely at them b4 ), ran them all and all were 30 overlap or under. I was just toying around with the dyno program at 1 time and found a combination that got 10 overlap and it seemed like an awsome cam for the motor. I may have Comp cams grind me a custom cam, on 114* LCA.

and yes, I know Crower dosn't make Falcon 6 cams, I checked them arleady.

Might talk with American Cam, they do re-grind have no problems with the wierd. Recommended by others here.

Did 4 cylinder for me $75.00 plus shipping, have not fired but checked out perfect while "blueprinting" engine.

I ordered one of the FSPP cams for my next turbo engine, it is close enough.

I can't justify the $$$$ for a custom grind

1 with a little less dururation on the exh side and it would make more power tho, like a 264/254 .450/ .445 112* LCA or even better 114*

Isky has a 114* turbo cam right off the shelf, #321-TA.

They told me they'd grind a custom cam for $40 extra. That should still be way below $200 for the cam.

the isky turbo cam is way too small for anything over 7 PSI boost. it's a like a 252/248 dur. I thought about that cam but it just won't work. I'll check them for custom grinds, there regulars are only $140.
