X-flow v. OHC rods

Can you run OHC rods in a X-flow? Does anyone have the rod specs for these motors? I'm looking at building a destroked 4.1 X-flow and I would like to to use the 6" rods from the 3.9 OHC motor if those will work. Any help is much appreciated.

The journal sizes on ohc and xflow are the same , but a standard 250/4.1 has a 5.88'' rod, so youd be going to a longer rod . The rods will interchange , but you need a custom piston to suit . hope that helps

Yep, that helps. Can I assume the rods are the same thickness? I'd be using the factory 6" rod with a custom piston.

The OHCs ran the same big end bearings for at least the first few years, so I guess that makes them the same width at the base. It's the same bearings as a US 250, IIRC.

As far as i know the 6'' rods are in the 4.0 AU engines , The 3.9 had the same rods as the 4.1 its just a smaller bore
