Any interest in a Torque Plate for the Small 6?

(Sorry to take off in another direction but seems OK as this has turned into a "gasoline alley' or whatever we call the forum here).

The 70s were bad 2 C here cuz we had the world by the hand in machining (it all started here @ Indus. Revolution). From Hartford CT to Springfield VT there was real innovation and precision (much of the aerospace machining wuz done here). When I wuz there the Mitchutoyo's came in (1st CNCs) and a few of the German's. Management usta come to the floor and ask us how to beat the other shops around in one or another process. We worked together, companies had loyalty (to us and back from us 2 them).
BUT
the arbitrage came in - short term profits, 1/4 stock reports for the investors. They forgot about long term plans, company building, name making, quality and all the rest. Companies got bought out just to close em down to please the investors. This geographic area lost it's leading role. Not until the work Deming did in Japan after the war did the techniques come back home 2 us - Nuimi, the Toyota Method, GM, what is Total Quality controll (& other more modern names - havin a senior moment here).
Over the past few yrs the Unemply Office has gone to the local shops and said "What do U need over the nxt decade, to grow back the industry?". Together (state & industry) have put together millions of dollars to do trainings to fill the skills gap lost by decades (4 or 5) of neglect & robbery. The best machines (again 4got da names)in the world R being made in TX. Our local schools now have them in a few numbers and adult and high school aged folk R being sought for the training needed to become the future. Let's hope the new administration can stay out of the way, or better yet - aid this effort!

rant over…
good luck wid da machining/sales
