How do I work out what engine it is, came out of a '53 Hawk? Any casting numbers or codes to look for?
Too many projects, Too little money.
'96 Futura 4.0 OHC Turbo?
'92 Falcon XR6
'76 F100 351C
'76 Citroen CX 2400
'70 Valiant 4 door 265 Hemi
'70 Valiant Hardtop 318
'69 Valiant 225 slant 4 door x 6

Can't help you there... In '53, Hudson made Hornets, Wasps and Jets. The Hawk is from the Studebaker stable, and I don't have any info on them.

Well, that's different!!!! I can help you there...
1. Is there a reenforcing web in the block casting about 2 inches above the oil pan? if so, it is a 308 block. If not, it could be a 232, or a 262.
2. on the side of the block, just in front of the manifold is the engine serial number. Get me that, and I think I can track it down for you.
