So i know there are quite a few threads on going turbo here. What have you all done for a exhaust header? I know you can use the stock and do a J pipe. But thats not acceptable for me. Iv seen a few options but looking for more or even someone selling parts!!!!
Fabricating your own exhaust probably is only way to locate turbo in a usable position in most vehicles without using a "J Pipe". Not aware of any aftemarket header solutions although nice turbo manifold for small ford six sold on here recently I believe.
Closer turbo is to exhaust outlet the better, it's thermal expansion more than velocity for turbo power (kudos to MacInnes)
I used a Buick derived Daw-Thru with a J-Pipe on a Maverick 250
'like to try a catalytic converter small six manifold for a turbo setup:
sick six , built remote turbo application on a half ton with startling result.
much to be said for the concept.
for him it worked out.
his turbo was under passenger floor.
