All Small Six Carter RBS to replace YFA?

This relates to all small sixes
no one else gettin in on this ?!?

This is the kick down linkage on the ‘82 Fairmont. It has those 90 degree bends to clear vacuum lines for the power brake booster and cruise control, plus an electrical harness. The kick down linkage on the ‘73 250 C-4 does not have this stuff between the firewall and the rear of the engine and its kick down linkage lies flat, in one plane.

These brackets are not exactly alike. The ‘73 is a half inch longer, does not have a spring, and does not have the extra tab with a captive (?) nut for the cruise control bracket. The linkages all attach the same way, with a small cotter pin.

never seen the 'skinny' rbs. Post 22 still has no clear vew of the 'rod' (almost got one from Alberta) & the 2 in #22 look too similar for difference,

I just hada look, 130am, typin on my back, 1 hand,

U state, eh? Want more on 'accesseries' anyway...

the near or bottom1, post 27, looks like the bbs i mentioned...
 
Last Carb Picture next to the Carter RBS is the Late 200 six Holley Carb about 1981 to 1982
 
Kick down rod and ‘73 C-4, column shift. The hole in the plastic grommet measures .255” on both ends of the rid and the receiving (pin) end is .250”,

The kick down rod is oriented the same. ‘73 is shown loose. Both measure the same: .250”i pin in a .255” grommet. I am pretty sure the 82 is also a C-4, no lock up torque converter.

That's some good detail in #34. I'd only seen 1 rod linked to the U shaped rod that connects to the carb (still need detail there). Didn;t realize two came up from tranny. Not sure how the two interact (esp w/the single U that goes to the carb. Alberta guy sent me so lill). A wire (actual insleated number 10 or 12) is with it all.

Also didn't realize two connected to the C4 (wonder if AOD is same).

BUT... how could I no. What I'm tryin to put together doesent exsist (i6 or bent6) AND (typical of rest0mods) I've never seen either system in its entirety (to copy / frankinstine up as will not B duplicated). Such is the life ofa garage rat like me...

BTW: the BBS is just for fun, not sayin sm in #24 is 1. Too lill to interest me (as I ponder today).

I'm an "Info Gatherer". Plans evolve but they're a dream. Life is propelled by dreams (I say shoot for the stars/ideal, B satisfied w/the real). I think abt the i6 w/these modes (250 bronco) and now the fox waggy ('85 LTD 3.8). The bronk (see 'build' thread in Bronks forum) will certainly stay 5 speed. The wagon may get a AOD (cream dream 4R70W but may need 500$ controller w/a carb). Lots more to detail for other's understanding but some of that has been built in Perry's addition to this (current) migration w/expanded forums (bent6). Anyway, love the futura (car) and this help. May hit U up some more. Keep up ur documentation. It's a service to us all ! (actually wheather on ford6 or elsewhere)~
 
Sorry for the confusion regarding the kick down rods. There is only one used; I just put the second one there to show that the ends are the same. Everything hooked up, snapped into place, and works. It’s been fun to work on.
An ‘85 Fox body LTD wagon with a 250 would be ideal. ⭐

Not me - see Stormin Norman (here) for that. I'll probably stick w/the bent6 (tq-ie). Would like the 4.2 head and all it
comes with (OBDII, fuel rail, port efi, etc, a 20 yr upgrade) if I can get more than the bare head. Norman's is a Fairmont as well I think. Brought it up from Mexico to W. Canada. may have 2.
