i see that my 1100 carb is connected to the distributor,i dont like that can i block off the spark control valve and then hook the vacumn advance to a vacumn fitting somewhere on the intake or maybe the carb base plate? will it allow the distributor to work properly? will the carb work properly without the spark control valve?

Yes, your Autolite 1100 carb through '67 , with the Spark Control Valve is designed to work with your stock Load-a-Matic Distributor.

Yes, it will run if the SCV is plugged, and Yes, it will run if the vacuum line is connected to full manifold vacuum- BUT- it will not run as designed, it will not work as well, Your plugs will show signs of peppering at highway speeds- an indication of too much advance.

A Load-a-Matic distributor will only work properly when hooked to a SCV on an 1100 Autolite carb. You might want to red the "Stickies" at the top of this forum. When working as designed, it is not a bad system. Please read emphasis on the "Working as designed" part.

"Working as designed" means that;
*there are no vacuum leaks
*the SCV is working.
*the vacuum cannister on the L-a-M distributor is not leaking and is working.
*all vacuum lines are in good, tight shape.
*the mechanism inside the distributor is clean and free moving. All springs are in place and functioning.

Good Luck.

Adios, David
