170 engine w/ 2-groove harmonic balancer?

Is there such a thing? I have a local bronco buddy putting power steering on his 170 and needs a second pulley off the crank. Could you bolt on a spare pulley to the balancer? Is it a junkyard find? Thanks for any help.

There's no real reason why you can't. My 200 has the add-a-pulley balancer and it works just fine.

I'd think that they are relatively rare, though. I think they stopped making them in '68 or so, but I could be mistaken. It would definitely be found on the earlier engines. Probably any early engine that you see with a two-groover on the crank is an add-on. There's an easy way to check, of course. It it has three bolts around the central one, it's one of them.

I have an "add-a-pulley" set aside for a future project. So they definitely exist...you'll have to find one in a junkyard...
