1966 mustang clifford performance headers

Has anyone bought clifford performance headers and also classic inline headers. Just doing a comparsion on both before I buy. They both look like they are high quality. My hooker headers I have are out of the car (also the engine). They are 8 years old. They hang way down past the frame over 2 inches under the floor boards passenger side. They are big and bulky even down at the drag link rod for the steering. The only good thing is they are contained very well at the #1 and #2 cylinder where I have a sanden A/c compressor bolted to the factory bracket for the 200 cid inline six engine. No problems at all there. ( mostly the #1 cylinder) So I am looking for a good quality header ( which I think both companies are) 2nd well contained around where the a/c is installed. 3rd well contained headers where it is not rubbing at the firewalls, hitting steering linkage and hanging lower than the frame of the car over 2 inches, which looks stupid from the side.
I know classic inline has a tech help which gives you ideas for moving the a/c compressor to the bottom and alternator to the top when installing headers. My a/c lines would have to be longer to do this. The sanden compressor is very small compared to the factory compressor. I am just trying to keep it simple.

Just for fun, can you check the header flange on those hooker headers between #1 and #2 pipe and see what part# is stamped on it. It almost sounds like you have part# 6602, which is for the 250 low mount starter cars. I have such a set on my Maverick and they don't hang down like you say yours do. Just curious.

Here is how mine looks underneath...not sure if you can really tell from this pic or not.

Have been running the Clifford headers for ten years, and have seen a couple of people running the Hookers. The Clifords are reasonably good, my concern has been only solid welding on the back side of the flange and spot welding on the outside and possibly too close to remove the starter. The hookers I have seen always hang down too low and can drag on some speed bumps. Based upon the description and if he has them in stock, if I were you I would go for the Inline headers. More starter clearance and solid welding on both sides of the flange. Make sure you go the extra expense of ones with the ceramic coating. I ran mine for a while without the coating, then pulled them and had them coated nine years ago. could not believe how much differance the coating made in engine and passenger compartment heat and noise.

Yeah that is what I will probally do is go with the classic inline headers.
Thanks for the info. Yeah I will get the ceramic coating also
