2.3 liter turbo part

you sure? that is a 1980 part number and I would think the old carb turbo oil return would be different than the 83-86 turbo drain. yes it is a discontinued item. is this on a 2.3L motor or for a inline six swap? if it is for a 2.3T might wanna try over on turboford.org for the drain on my turbo setup (might have mock up pics this weekend) I am using a bolt on pipe thread adaptor available just about anywhere or made at home easily, some -10 line and a bung welded in the pan. low dollar (got all the fittings for free in a plumbing grab bag, the -10 hose came on an oil cooler I got on ebay that I resold for profit while keeping the hoses and the adaptor was $14.

trick setup I always wanted on my 2.3 cars was a fitting in the block with orings in a groove for a drain tube to slip into. then either weld it all in one chunk or have a flare fitting on the flange.

on my 3.3T I am just draining into the pan.....way easy to just weld a fitting in the pan and work from there.

Remember the return tube comes in two different sizes on the flange, one is bigger than the other.

Or you can call call Kevin at Majestic Turbo in Waco,Texas and have him sell you the correct flange w/graphite gasket, that you'll need for cheap and then build the rest of your return line, IE: Areoquip, conduit, or whatever you prefer.

Jeff -

it is pretty hard to fit a generic line in a 2.3L....costly too.

don't worry about flange sizing. if you get the smaller one (for an IHI) you can just file the holes a little and it will fit a T3. I do notice that the part number is for a 1980 item? is this on a carbed 2.3L turbo?

8) The turbo is off an 86' E.F.I T-Bird and will be going on a Carb set up. The number is what I was told is the best choice. I may just try to make one up out of stainless tubing and try to find a graphite gasket for the turbo/line connection.

you can buy a bolt on flange for the turbo drain on ebay for under $20 that has either a pipe thread or AN nipple. way cheaper than the ford part (known to crack) it is what I am using on my turbo setup. my turbo is back at home or else I would snap a pic for you.
