200 ci large log intake

Hello, I’m new to this site and am looking for info about a carb and distributor to get rid of spark control carb and distributor. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks. The block is D8BE 6015GE and intake E0BE 6090-BB

Hey, I’ll chime in with some recommendations.

I’m having a lot of success with a Weber down draft and an HEI distributor I bought on EBay from a seller by the name of TheSwapMeetParts. The Weber was a Redline/Clifford Performance kit and it pretty much bolted on and was ready to go. Jetted for a Ford 6. My engine has some mods so I did spend some time jetting and dialing it in but all said and done, Im not far from how it came in the box.

* If you go the Weber route, I’d suggest getting a phenolic spacer to make a thermal break between the log and the carb. I haven’t put one in mine yet but I’m sure it will be beneficial for hot days in traffic.

As far as the distributor goes, there are several options. DUI makes an all in one HEI, like the kind you’d see in a 1980’s and up Camaro. A lot of guys are using Duraspark II. I couldn’t find a complete unit where I am (at the time) so I jumped on the aftermarket HEI but one of our members here @wsa111 can set you up with a custom curved Duraspark II and provide plenty of tune up advice to get you running right.

Here’s what my setup looks like

You might have the hex log head which at 1420 cfm is the highest flow of the small six heads.

That is good for you then!
You don't need these pics then but other info also here:

Hi, as far as I know, the '69 and later intake opening is the same 1 3/4" as the larger 240 and 300 truck engine. That allows you to use the 69 and up Autolites, and the Carter's from the trucks. Are you using a later carb now, or an adapter to put the smaller, older carb on your intake manifold? You do not say if you have an automatic transmission and need a kick down linkage. Personally, I would get a Ford style distributor. Good luck

I do not have a carb on the car at the moment. It was a chinese one that was impossiblle to set. The car has a two speed automatic with kickdown linkage. I will look for a later carb and like to replace the distributor as well. Thanks for the Help
