Hey guys,

I purchased a td cortina for a new project car (arrived today). It has a 200 pre xflow and is unfortunately a auto.

The motor, gearbox and diff arnt going to be in there for much longer and i would like to have a bit of fun with it before i go ripping it apart.

I am going to take it out to a street meet this weekend just to have a bit of fun (burnouts) and was wondering if there was anything i could do help it spin the treads a bit better.

I dont want to spend any money on parts i dont want. I am wondering if there any bolt ons, ie carby from a xf etc etc that might help that wont cost me much or any $$$

I have a few bits and peices lying around like a thermo and a 32/36 webber but am unsure if they would be worth throwing on.

there is only 1 thing i can think of.just hold her flat to the floor and don't stop till ya blow the tyre

get rid of the air filter and get rid of the exhaust, maybe the carb.

if your dropping in a 250 then keep the conrods out of the 200

i am unsure how well it will spin the wheels, i dont want to take it out not be able to get it to smoke. I wouldnt mind having a play in the back yard but i dont think the neighbours will appreciate it :) Might just drop the exhaust and loose the filter and see how it goes, might throw a set of brake clamps in the glove box just incase.

I'll post some pics saturday night if everything goes to plan.

Are the crank and rods from the 200 pre xflow the same as the crank and rods from the 200 xflow?

cheers

simon

Loose the back breaks, then stand on the gas and break pedals. Cheap smoke!
