250 head on 170/200

I know I've read responses about this subject. Well, I'm gonna ask again. Will a 250 I6, cylinder head fit on a 170 and a 200 engine block? ...ZZ

yes a 250 head will fit on a 170/200 block with no modifications however I think you have to either mill the head or get the block decked to bring the CR up to where it should be.

Thanx guys. I have this machinist lined to do the head and he's pretty sharp. I just wanted my ducks in a row when I give him the cylinder head..ZZ

aparently dont bother if you have a 200 post 1969. they are the same as the 250 heads. at least thats what ive been told.
