Howdy..

Ok.. so soon, I'll begin my Falcon XA's conversion from it's current loghead 1bbl to the 250 2V head. Does anyone have any recommendations about what to do with the throttle linkage???

Make sure you reconnect it. The car will run better.

(Sorry, Aussie humour  )

What about the accelerator cable brackets from a Cortina?

Yeah.. ok.. step one, hook up.. hehehe

Ok.. I'm not sure, but it sounds.. interesting? There's that bar in there that turns when you hit the accelerator, right? So, would the cable have to somehow hook up to that bar on a lever or something of that sort?

Doh! I was thinking you'd chopped it to LHD. Which carb is being installed?

You can run a short cable actuated by the cross-shaft. That would require some minor bracketry to be made - either out of steel angle and plated, or stainless and polished if you want it to look good.

A cable pedal off an XC Falcon may also work, and would then only require a generic bracket of some type... The 74DA intake (one used on Cortinas) has the raised twin bosses on #5 runner that are tapped to 5/16" UNC on some cars for a cable throttle bracket or kickdown (not sure which).

Sometimes when the head is on, and the carby installed, an ideal situation will just smack you in the face; things will line up fortuitously.

Anyone here got the Ellery's manual? If you do, can you look for an install pic, please?

Cheers, Adam.

i put a 250 2v into a te cortina, the 2v had a bracket already on it but i can't say if it was factory.i still have the bracket and it wouldn't be hard to make 1.
