From what I can gather on this site (great info by the way) it looks as though the 262 wasn't available in an F100 before 1964. I have a 1962 F100 Unibody longbed with a 262. It appears to be the factory engine and the VIN is F10BK242655. The 4th digit "B" indicates the 262 as far as I know. It has the 4-speed manual with granny low and 3.89 rear ratio 9-inch axle. I discovered that the number 1 piston has a hole in the top of it so I'm kind of uncertain about what I'm going to do with the truck. It is in pretty decent shape (no bed rust or drip rail rust). Are pistons available for this engine? Thanks for the help.
