2v swap holley 350 cfm problems!!!

First of all, i'll introduce myself.
My name is robbert and i'm from The Netherlands.
I own a Mustang Fastback 1965 and i recently converted my 1 barrel to an 2 barrel Holley 2300 350 cfm carb.

But the thing is that the engine starts, then dies, but if i push the gaspedal a little down then she keeps running until i release my footh from the pedal.

My ignition system is stock, because the pertronix doesn't work.( i already tried that )

My exhaust is also stock..

So who cabn help me??

I can rotate the screw clock or counter clock wise with no change.
I used an brandnew Holley 2300 with this :

javascript:openWindow('ViewItem.aspx?ID=b38daf3e-8e3b-460d-ac15-3fd35696ca4a', '600', '600');

adapter.

And i've bolted the carb very tight.

Robert,
Make sure you have not over looked any vacuum ports that have not been plugged on the carburator.
Spray WD-40, or the like, around the base of the carb and see if it idles up.
What about your PCV port at the bottom opposite the fuel bowl? A bad PCV valve can act the same as a vacuum leak.
Another thing, are your air/fuel mixture screws out 1 1/2 turns from bottoming, they are on the sides of the metering block.
It mostly sound like a vacuum leak, one 3/16" vacuum line disconnected from my manifold-side vacuum, and the bronco will not even run.

Good Luck.

Chazthephoenix - It's just what you mean by a lot!
I know a few people here that own a fastback but buying a fastback here isn´t cheap.

And i thought that buying a mustang in the USA is very cheap.
When i look at EBAY i see a lot of mustang for sale, for prices that are much below our prices here.

I heard that a new ´06 Mustang costs 15.000 dollar in the US, and here they cost 76800 dollar. (60.000 euro)

We pay very high taxes and stuff....SO DON"T BUY A MUSTANG HERE...

And i will check iff my engine has vacuum problems..

Is the carb butterfly valve opening up from a choked position after start up.

Also your idle circuit in the carb (the one that provides fuel at idle) may be blocked. Some low pressure air and carb cleaner may blow out a blockage.

Good luck,
Steve-O

Steve-O, I like that paint color...what is it? and where did you get it?

By the way, why the S-3 and E-2/C-2 cockpits on your cardomain, were you slumming from Tomkitty world :roll:

I found the solution to this problem.

And here goes ;

Recently i tried my timing light en it didn't work ( for some wierd reason!! ) but last saturday my light did work.

And it saw that my timing was very off, and by adjusting the timing my car started right up en idled very well.

Still i had a problem with my oil light, that kept blinking until i stepped up the gas a little bit.
So if anyone has an idea, i would want to know..

But my car idles!!!!!!!!!!
