All Small Six 4bbl carb on stock 200

This relates to all small sixes
Hey everyone, sorry if this has been posted before but I couldnt find it.
I’m looking at buying a 4 bbl carb for my stock 200ci. Whats the best way to convert it from the autolite 1100? I’d be a sniper. I am not looking at making power gains, but instead buying the carb I will (hopefully) need in the future.
Thank you!

You can't put a 4 bbl carb on a stock 200!! Well given enough time and money you can, but of no value. Get the correct head and intake first then the 4bbl is easy later.a

The intake manifold is cast as part of the head and only has an inlet for a one barrel carburetor.
There is a one barrel Sniper or you can get a two barrel to one adapter and use the two-barrel Sniper.

There are a few here that have machined the intake to fit a two barrel directly without having to use an adapter.

... theoretically you could stack two carb base adapters - 2X1 and 4X2. Finding a suitable 4Bbl with low CFM spec and 200 Six compatible would be the challenge.

... not sure why your 200 would need a 4Bbl in the future ! - ?

the Holley 2300 - 2Bbl is popular and widely available in 350CFM and 500CFM versions, jets and parts same as a 4bbl. Briefly used the 500CFM on a stock 170 with eye watering over-rich results ...

the Weber 32/36 \ Holley/Weber-5200 is a mechanical Progressive 2Bbl also popular and offers improved tuning capability over early 1Bbl's. Primary barrel used on low speed/cruise and has the "4Bbl Effect" when Secondary barrel opens.

Best performance and mileage is usually at the stoichiometric air to fuel ratio (static) , with 14.7:1 being the perfect value determined for pure gasoline.

Have fun

...did use a Turbo specific Quadrajet carb on a stock 250 cid Draw-Thru project . Built for V6 Buick/Olds/Pont. the Draw-Thru setup needed 950CFM at WOT. Ran good til' pistons gave out.
