6 blade fan

Does anyone have a 6 blade fan and a 3 row radiator??? If so what length fan spacer are you using??? I have a 1/14" now but it looks like I need to get something shorter, like maybe a 3/4".
Need some insight into this.

8) you might be better off swapping to an electric fan rather than using a 6 blade fan. you will have less fan noise and better cooling along with a slight gain in power.

I want to keep the stock look. I am replacing a 4 blade fan now. I found out that cars with a/c came with 6 blade fans instead of 4 blade. That is probably the reason for my car running so hot when it gets warm out. The 6 blade will definately move a lot more air because of the pitch of the blades. The old 4 blade is pretty flat in comparison.

The A/C fan wouldn't fit with my 3-row. Had to get a flex fan.

Then it turned out, I don't even need a fan with the 3-row because I only drive it on the highway, so I am fanless.

I don't have AC, but I found that after I went from a 2-row to a 3 row, and replacing the rest of the cooling system (hoses, T-stat, water pump, etc) that even with a stock 4 row, my car barely gets up to the T-stat rated temperature even on a 95*+ day sitting in stop and go traffic.

I had a flex fan...hated it. Way too loud but man could that thing move some air.

I recommend giving the 4 blade a chance with teh 3 row radiator. You might be surprised.

I currently have a 3 row rad and a V8 6blade in my 65 mustang, what i had to do was take off the 3rd pulley get a 1/4 inch spacer to mount the fan, it feels so heavy tho, i lost alot of pony's when i put it on... i'm going to go electric sooner or later but ATM it cools just fine in cold weather, i have a 160* thermo and in 100* with the a/c going i'm sitting @ 200-220, can't cool it fast enough, but that's only in stop and go traffic.

EDIT: i think the flex fan saves pony's if you ask me, i would stick a 6blade flex in there if i had to do it again.

I have 3 row radiator, & AC. Had problem with overheating when idling in traffic so I tried a 6 blade fan from a Maverick. Very loud and heavy so I now have a 6 blade flex fan. Had to use 3/4" spacer to keep it out of the radiator. Now I have about 3/8" clearance at the radiator and about 1/4" on the back side in front of the AC compressor. I want to to go to electric but can't find one thin enough. Current 3 row radiator is leaking so I'm thinking about going back to 2-row and electric fan.

As a help, try routing your heater hoses to the left of the engine, away from the exhaust. I dropped my temps considerably by doing this:

Why didn't i think of this...

I finally put the six blade fan on today. I had to change the spacer behind it from the factory one to one that was only 1/2" thick. With the 3 row radiator that I have it as the blades about 1/2" from it. I could really stand another 1/8" away from the engine but I can live with where it is for now. And yes it is a little more noisy, but I dont think it is anything I cant stand.
What size spacer does anyone else here use????

I had started fabbing up a shroud for mine out of fiberglass(haven't had time to finish). Channeling the air helps out quite a bit. After the engine upgrades, my factory temp guage wandered into places I had never seen. recently, I used my non-contact thermometer on the t-stat housing and it's right on the money-guage is horribly innacurate. Point is, see what the temps really are-you may be surprised.
