A guy in sweden is selling some 6-parts, mostly aircleaners and carbs. He wants $250 for the lot.

Ad here

In the Ad he says there are 2 original carbs for mustang 65-66 six, and 2 1bbl Holleys. What do you think about these - i haven't got the exact models, what carbs are in the pic? Since this could be a fair deal if i'm going down the offenhauser 3x1 (if i can fit it under the hood ) i'm very interested in it.

That whole pile would bring about $50 in the USA, Don't know what it is worth in Europe.

I think the prices are a bit different over here, it's hard to get your hands on parts for the sixes generally, haven't seen used 1bbl carbs for sale anywhere until this one showed up .

saw the last 1100 on ebay two years ago, for 40 Euros. corroded surfaces, badly warped, missing parts, and the throttle plate had hammered a deep grove in the throttle bore. at least I could save the choke shaft and unmolested main jet.

Today, you can´t buy sh*t on kraut eBay. seems like everything you can put a mustang name on sells for triple what its worth (unless YOU are the seller, then nobody wants it at all. murphy´s law)

Sad to say but the other posters are right. In your parts search situation, ($250 is about....uummm....280 euro? i think?) I'd offer him $200 and try to go no higher than $220. E-bay the hubcaps and air cleaners and try to recoop as much of your money as you can. If all goes well, you may walk away with a bunch of parts carbs for no more than $100 out of your pocket. Not a good deal over here but not too bad for over there.

I wish!! more like the other way around. But the prices are pretty accurate. Luckily I live on an Army post and shipping costs are only to New York. I just use regular eBay. The military pays everything else. But for some people they still don't like to ship to APO (Army Post Office) addresses. Can't FedEx or UPS, just good ol' fashioned USPS.

Some of the other guys are right, but also wrong. You can get a 1bbl carb for cheap, but you will get ahat you pay for, crap!!! I just bought an Autolite 1100 that was rebuilt and it works like a dream. I paid $80 for it which was a steal. I had bid on half a dozen others on Ebay that all went for more than $100-$150, one even for $225 that was new.

I would say if the 4 carbs are just in need of a rebulid kit @ $10 each, you would be in them for $40 right off the bat. If you sold them for $80 each, that would be $320. I would look at it from that perspective. How much money will be made after it is all said and done. Of couse you proabaly want to keep one for the Comet, right?

Anyway, I'd offer him $175 and see what he says. That would make you break even if you sold the other 3, kept one and paid $25 in shipping.

Hope this helps. :D
