I am just not sure if there is any differance between the rocker assembly
for a 60'thru 62' 223 and an engine made in 56' or 57'.

Any advice?

yea buddy,,,

the rack on the late model has all smooth toped "risers", and the rack from an early one (like mine) has offset studs mounted on two of them to mount the rocker cover. basicly, i believe the parts are interchangeable. IE: retainer springs, shaft, rockers...

i am 99% positive the differences END there on the heads, BUT the damn things change in the same model year for the truck/car applications?...

i had no idea the truck 223 and the one for pass cars have some pretty big differences... like the dizzy oil pump drive shaft, and the oilpump drive "socket"
on the cars, its a sloted, round drive on the dizzy, and the truck has a longer-hex shaped drive for the pump,,,
OR.. is this just a later style dizzy shaft/pump configuration?

i dont understand the need for the differences in engine design, but i wonder if the drive sockets in the pumps are interchangable???

I knew about the difference in the supports because I have so many
heads and have almost "only" owned 57' thru 60' f-100's.
I wasn't sure about a change in ratio or geometrty.

Thanks for the info.
On the oil pump subject...I have only seen and serviced truck units.
A side by side inspection,on the bench with calipers will reveal what
they have in common.

The rocker assemeblies are all interchangable.

I have two or three extra assemblies if you need one.

When we get together we can check and see what I have
and what I need.I don't want to be a "parts hog"
Cal I forgot to ask what year your truck is.
