trying to dress up the engine a little with chrome and blue... i found some blue spark plug wires but they are 8mm, i was told that i couldn't use them on my 200? is this true?? haven't been able to find any blue 7mm!! anyone know where i could get some or let me know if the 8mm would be okay!! thanks

i just put blue 8mm wire on my 200. I got the kind that you need to cut them to length yourself and crimp on the end.
Looks friggin great

who ever tyold you that is wrong

I went to the autparts store and asked for the cheapest wires they had and he pulled out abox and gave it to me and they are 8mm and my car seems to be running good.

As far as I know you can run what you want. Most people like to run bigger leads than stock mainly because they look better and are supposed to help performance. Usually just because they look better. I'm running Prospark 9mm leads with no troubles.

Howdy back All:

7 or 8mm will work fine. 7mm looks more stock and consistant with 60's tech. 8mm have the electronic look. The isulation thickness is the difference. Any new wire will be an improvement over 40 year old original, graphite impregnated wires.

The color won't effect performance, but you may feel better. The difference in plug wires is on the inside. Spiro-core center wires are the best compromise between low resistance and good radio interference suppression.

Also custom fit are tighter and less likely to leak or pull apart then cut-to-fit type wires.

Adios, David
