I guess the major advantage would be the ability to use a T-5 bellhousing and a high performance clutch.
I cant imagine its any harder to drill the extra holes for the T-5 bellhousing than it is to adapt a T-5 to a 3.03 bellhousing. Also, the rebuilt 81-83 engine wont have forged conrods right?
It seems like a good deal. Just have to weigh the pros and cons against individual needs.
No. It has the same smaller bolt pattern as the 200, so a 250/300 or 289/3025.0 flexplate/flywheel would have to be redrilled. Center pilot hole is the same for all, though, so the job is much easier.
