A/C and low idle

Quick 8

OK, here's the problem:
I have A/C with an 1100 carb. When I set the idle so that it doesn't stall when the A/C is on, it is WAY to high when the A/C is off.

Are the any one-barrel carburetors that would bolt on to an otherwise stock 200 that will kick the idle up when the A/C is running but not when it is off?

Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim

On several 70's and early 80's cars there were idle solenoids that held the throttle open. They were primarily used to allow the throttle to shut completely when the engine was shut down to prevent run-on.

One of those could be rigged to hold the throttle open slightly more when the AC was on.

Look at Vegas, Pintos, Granadas, Tempos....or go to the parts store and ask for an idle stop solenoid for a car of that vintage.
