wondering where the rich/lean adjustment should actually be???? car starts great, runs great...may have a little miss in it...but while it's warming i'm getting a little black smoke out the exhaust..... does that mean it's too rich???? do i need to back it off a little or go a little the other way.... thanks.... when i tighten it a little it seems like the rpm's go up??? is that what it supposed to do??? just want to be sure i'm adjusting it correctly

HI
Idle mixture screw is in the base of the carb...
Adjust in or out to best idle re-adjust the idle speed to stock setting.
Re-adjust the mixture screw to best idle again, Re-adjust idel speed if needed, The turn it in just till you get a small RPM drop 20 or so. the reset idle ,, this should be best lean mixture. This should all be down with the air filter in place so you get the right mix with the restriction of the air filter.
