Just got my Autolite 1101 back from Pony Carburetor, and am trying to set timing and Idle for the first time. Think I have a vacuum leak, and am not sure if all the lines are run correctly.

Have a '68 shop manual (no 250 of course), and haven't gotten a '69 one yet.

Schematic or any tips for a relative newbie on setting idle are appreciated.

Thanks!

IMCO equipped or plain jane? The latter would mean just a single vacuum line from the carb spark port to the distributor vacuum advance canister.

if you have your emission stuff in place, its like this:

btw, nice one. I really dig the vinyl roof and lime gold poly

Awesome drawing, Simon - wish I could free-hand like that!

Don't think it has IMCO emissions (of course, I'm epxecting to see a smog pump, or something else with a belt). I'm not in front of the car now, but I remember seeing a three-port vacuum tee fitting below the carb by the intake manifold "log." It's not a CA car, if that helps.

Thanks, too, for the compliments! I feel the same way...patina (-:

I could sell that car in a week, for at least 6K. Assuming it had wheels/caps (of course) and registration. But it would be more fun to drive it as-is, and irritate all the dreamers!

They got that pricey in OZ as well?

thanks to countless music video clips and bad movies, the demand for American classics is greater than ever in krautland.

Simon, Australia's been in love with America (more or less) since the '40s. Just like the guitars, cars are overpriced.

At 6K, it would be attainable to the dreamers. They'd borrow 3K from the bank, $500 each from two of their friends, and the balance off a family member. The car would be quickly dismantled in anticipation of a 351C swap and full repaint, and sit.. and sit... and sit...

Which is precisely why it's more fun to drive exactly as it stands.

May I enquire as to what something like that actually costs in the US?
