i put a post out to see what i could find for some 2bbls and found someone with a 2GC.

"Rochester 2bbl. Came on my chevy stock...not sure of CFM, we think 435 but really aren't sure i'd have to measure the venturis to find out and i've been to lazy to do that. I think it was pretty awesome for a 2bbl."

has anyone used one of these before? thanks!

Yep, the Rochester Reporductions 2CG is one awesome carb. I don't know if 435 cfm is it, but it runs 500 Holley throttle plates, and is modled on the 2-BBL 2300 Holley carb. The throttle plates and spacing are the same, its just the bolt pattern which is smaller.

I do know that it has a huge CFM delivery of about 369 cfm on some versions. The carb is one of the most reliable pieces around, and is still used as a blue-printed item for some kinds of contolled 2-bbl SBC/BBC racing.

It is

1)heavy zinc oxide on the fuel bowl and venturi body,

2) cast iron throttle body

3)doesn't warp because the bolt patern doesn't allow the cast iron base to bend, and it still has a parts supply.

4) has a horizontal split line which doesn't leak

5) Runs a similar to Holley throttle lever

It is heavy but an oldie and a goodie!

I run a 2gc on mine and never had a problem. Jegs sells one that flows at 500 cfm
