Ausie X flow head

Does any one know where I can get an Aussie x flow head? I wanna finish the short block on my project 250 and use the FSPP head but when I put that motor in my stang I'll have this 200 ci lying around that I'll wanna tinker with. I might also consider doing it the othjer way around. put the x-flow on the 250 and the FSPP head on the 200 I don't know yet. I think it will depend on which engine stands to benefit the most from either head. The thing is I'm puttingtogether a parts list and I need to price things out.

thanks guys and Keep sixn'

8) www.fordsixparts.com mike might be able to get you a crossflow head. that or contact addo and see if he can get you one. it wont be cheap though either way. as i recall addo quoted me something like $400 for shipping and like $150 for the head, these are US dollars as i recall.

sounds steep but still w/in the longterm budget I think I'll have to make some sacrifices on the showy stuff or bolt on upgrades in stages. As ashamed as Iam to admit it I have been on this forum for almost a year I think and I don't know much about pm ing someone. I had a chance meeting with one of the mechanics that worked on Joe L's car but that was luck and school keeps me so darned busy I've got finals in one week. can you tell me how to pm addo or who do I contact at FordSixparts.com

thanks again and Keep sixn'

Look at the bottom of this reply and you will see a button that says PM. If you pres that button it will open a page just like the one you posted with. Just fill in the subject and post your message and hit send. It will send me a PM.

Find a post by Addo and that is how it's done.

Shipping stuff from Australia is stupidly expensive unless you can find someone who has a container coming this way.

I brought a pair of 302 Cleveland heads back with me in my luggage. I tried to carry one on the plane, but they wouldn't have anything to do with that.......

Haha, that made me laugh. I've thought of doing that before if I found a 2V head on a business trip to Australia. I'd wondered about what that would look like on the Xray and if they'd make me chack it because it was too long or could be used as a weapon (a big cast iron club?) in the cabin. Thanks for relaying that experience.

Take your pick mate, their a dime-a-dozen here.

Wrecking yards are full of crossflows, but I don't know if it's worth getting just a head to go on a US 200 or 250 block. You'd be doing a few mods to make it fit.

thanks mustang6 bgut I don't understand the link just gives me a list of cars and their location in the yard do I have to contact them directky and ask for the part and for its delivery. and then what guarantee do I have about the part not being cracked or excessively warped. please forgive my inquisitiveness I have been mistreated by my local yard here in the US "all ford auto dismantlers" I think they are a den of theives.

Thanks again,

u will need to do extencive modifications to make these heads fit on a US block i remember a while ago mustangsix was working on do it and i think he stopped because he reached a dead and

Mustang Boy,
thanks for your concern,

was it mustang six who published the article on the fordsix tech page. I never found out how that worked the article seems to imply that its works but I never found out if he fired it up or how well it runs. I'll try to PM him and find out. in which case if ti doesn't work as well as I hoped I'll have to talk to addo.

8) jack has fired the motor up, and it ran well according to him. he also said it had a few issues, mostly some small oil leaks, and it needed tuning. it wasnt in the article he updated in a thread posted here a couple of years ago.

cameljockey,

I have at least 10 alloy crossflow heads, probably 5+ cast iron crossflow heads, and at least 3 250 2V heads.

I'm from Australia, feel free to PM me if you, or anyone else is interested.

I think freight will be expensive from Oz. At least, I had a 33lb flywheel and clutch kit for my Porsche 944 Turbo shipped from the US to Oz. and it cost me something like 300 USD through UPS express.

Lee.

I have a few of the complete crossflow engines here not far from you (In Garden Grove) didn't want to split the head off of them but you are welcome to check them out if you want for a look.. and I will probably be sending another container load of vehicles over in a few months time again and could get you just a head over then if you liked 8)
