autolite 2100 carb for a turbo setup

i am getting a two barrel carb spacer. i have a 2100 available can i use this carb on a 2.3 L tbird turbo at 8psi of boost. this is a blow through setup also. if i can use it what has to be done to make it hold up to boost no higher then 12 psi

you'll need to convert the carb to a blow thru set up. If you try to BT a normal carb, you won't get far. There used to be a place on the internet that talked about how to change Holleys over to BT set up, but I can't find it now, and I don't know if the same things can be done to an Autolite (though I can't see why not).

i remember reading something about changing the float to a special one that they have that wont cave in under pressure

yeah, it has to be boost referenced. Also, you'll need a high pressure fuel pump as you'll have to have fuel pressure at least 6 psi above your maximum boost pressure you plan to run. If you leave it stock, you'll boost your fuel pump.
