No, get the Engine and work on from that. :D By the way have you researched to see if any one is importing that engine to the US ? You could always start with Ford Australia and see what they tell you.

If you can get me the engine Trans and everything i need to make it go for 1200 shipped its a deal lol. i dont think ford has ever thought about importing those everyone here is all about the eco-boost v6. I6 are long forgotten to them. there is a guy in portland that did import but i dont know if he still does or if he is even still in business or not. i can give Ford Aus a email but dont think i will get a response.

its not a turbo motor plus there is nothing else with it i would like to get the trans and computer and as long as i am importing it i want the turbo motor too ;) but that's some time down the road maybe when i get the money together i can get the new version with the 6 speed auto trans :)

I am trying to help you by cutting out the middle man and for me to help you find something would not work in your favour. I would be happy if you made a contact to check it out for you and verify all was 100%. That is if it is something near to me.

Get your money together and work from that. As I stated earlier get a complete package with engine gearbox and wire loom computer etc. that way you do not have any hidden missing items when you go to set it up.

I could also help you with a contact in Ford here as that way you would then find the correct connections.

already contacted ford just to see if they exported those to a closer country dont think they did but its worth a shot. ya im going to start saving money for it soon need to finish my brakes and get paint on it. then i can save for it. looking at ebay aus looks like it would be around 5k for the setup then shipping and a rebuild kit.

Just a quick fyi the emission thing isn't at a state level as several states don't have emission tests. The adr/euro spec vs US spec isn't going to fly either as this motor won't meet US emissions and unless you are up for proving it and getting it certified then you can have problems. It also doesn't matter what year the car you want to install it in.

On the bell housing just get a t-5 style from an n/a falcon and you can use it pretty easy for a standard mustang t-5. Using the hydraulic conversion is recommended to fit a newer bell. Really pretty easy.

i just checked the epa they dont regulate just a engine for a light vehicle its considered auto parts to its exempt. so i could put that in my mustang and not have problems. i would like auto trans because thats what my car came with and because its a daily driver it would be nicer in traffic to have a auto. i have seen that the new falcons have a 6 speed now! *drool* *starts saving pennys* :)

I did the same check and was told it was ok as well. The fight didn't start till they hit customs for me. If the engine isn't complete then its easy but if it is complete then don't expect things to go so easy. I'm not going to add anything more to the importing process, if you need something you can pm me.

On a side note having one of these motors is definitely pretty cool. Only reason I skipped the turbo version was the factory rods give up before the hp number i'm looking for so might as well buy the cheaper version and put some really good parts in it.

I think we have to blame that issue on scammers and hackers etc. I have found a similar issue when I tried to join a US based forum some time ago as Aussies and Kiwis got blocked.

Actually i ran into a fellow today in Washington State that has a few of these engines and transmissions all ready to be gone through and dropped into your favorite pony. He runs a import/export business so I am sure crating them up and shipping them would be no problem. If anyone is serious about getting there hands on one of these 4.0 overhead cam engines let me know and i can see if he wants to part with them.

wait you mean someone has some of the dohc Barra motors over here in WASHINGTON!!!!!! if its who i think it is he dont have them on his website. i would love to see them in person to check it out mabey see what he wants for one :)

Yeah he is located in Battle Ground, WA i just picked up a crossflow head from him yesterday. I dont know how many he has but at first he thought i was looking for a complete crossflow engine and tried to offer me one of the BA engines, but i wasnt looking for that big of an engine swap. He runs an export/inport business and said he could also get other parts in from AU. I'm waiting for him to call me back so i can get the vavle cover and thermostat housing for my head and i will inquire about what it would take to take one of those engines off his hands. And like i said they are complete pan to intake with transmissions, I dont know if they have the computers but i would assume so or you could venture off into the great world of mega squirt.
