backcutting intake valves?

just had my machinist completely go through my head, check compression, replace all the valves, etc...and then i picked up a book on ford six performance. wish i'd done it the other way around, but the one recommendation that stuck out to me was to backcut the intake valves using a three angle cut. is this a good enough idea to take the head back to my machinist to have it done before i fully reassemble and if so, does anyone have any idea how much this would normally cost?

thanks!

Nate,
Having had the backcut valves done to my heads, I can tell that it's not worth taking the head back and having it disassembled and cut and put back together. the cost would be $100.00 to 200.00 if your at the point that back cutting the valves is the only thng you can do why not install a new bigger cam, or get 1.6 ratio rockers, there are many more area's to spend your money and get better bang for your buck.
