I havent started my mustang since fall (67' 200) and it wont start, usualy it turns over (i got a new battery) so I unhooked the fuel filter and tried cranking it, I got a little fuel but not much. So I put some gas in the tank, same thing exept now im getting nothing Im thinking fuel pump, would you guys agree?

This could be several things. Besides the fuel pump, you could have clogged lines and/or a bad pickup filter in the tank. Gas will eventually turn to shellac and clog both.

Before going with replacing the pump, remoe the rubber hose from the sender and see if gas is coming out. Then disconnet the line to the pump and blow it out with compressed air and see what happens. You can test the out pressure of the pump if you have gauge.

one of the mechanics at my work recomended that I try blowing air through the line too. Im going to be working on it saturday (work and school durring the week) and I wanted to see what you guys had to say before I started. I thought that the fuel pump problably needed replacing anyways seeing as how its original...Anyone know how good they last up to time?

Today I tested my car out again, and it turns out I am getting fuel through the lines, it is coming out very nice too. So I realized that it must be my carb. I took it off and cleaned it about two years ago, but with todays ethanol gas I think it made the main jet seat expand. So im going to buy a rebuild kit and just completly re-do it.
