How does this hold down bolt into the battery tray? Bolt goes into the tray, then a nut to hold it to the tray then another nut to bolt it down into the clamp?
The bolt comes up through the battery tray. Maybe one nut is used to hold it in place. The clamp plate is made for the size 24F battery that has "extended lugs" on the lower ends of the battery. The left end goes under a flange on the tray and the right end gets clamped down using the plate and nut. The battery with the end lugs are hard to find. I bought a ACDelco size 24F with lugs at Autozone last spring. Works well.
