Nope, I like my engines to not explode by accident.

Nitrous- I just like to make the HP on the motor, myself. There's alotta cars out there that run N2O that wouldn't have a chance w/o it. But theres alot that have it even though the motor can do the job on its own. :D

Maybe my FE needs twin Eatons, too.....

IMO thats a lame arguement. Take the blower away from the blower guy and he'll be back of the pack too.

Blowers are obvious for one thing. Nitrous is not a performance bolt on in the normal respect. The blower is a mechanical enhancement.

And as for lame arguement, why not take the performance parts away from the engine & he'll be in the back of the pack ,too.

Do you ever think before you type? :D

I told Jeff he could run two but he didn't like that idea!:D

The 300 EFi serpentine set up would be the way to go on a 300 but I'm pretty sure there is a difference between the 240 and 300 balancers. You'd have to ask FTF to be sure. But you'd have to change the blower pullies. The Ford blowers have a 8 rib serpentine pulley while the 300 EFI has a 6 rib pulley. Now the gm eatons have 6 rib pelley's so if they are the right width you could swap on the GM plley and your belt drive would be done. But you will have to set up a belt tensioner too.
The later GM Eatons do have a 6 rib pulley however the shaft is press on type and larger diameter than the Super Coupe M90's with smaller shafts and keyed. Early GM Eatons (M62) do have keyed pullies, and smaller dia pullies. These I have not tried.

I am using the 8 rib pullies with a 6 rib belt without issues. I stress that the pullies must be aligned perfectly or the belt will suffer. My system currently uses a single belt. I may change to a seperate belt if wear become a problem. I have seen 14 psi with the two M90's I have, with a 2.6 to 1 ratio. Get used to black dust from slippage... :!:

My point was that calling nitrous cheating because if you take it away they are at the back of the pack is lame.

It was said in a joking manner, Whittey. Half the guys on this forum want or have nitrous. I don't have a thing against someone using it. I don't want it for the reason Ted refered to- its like juggling hand grenades. I prefer to make the power from the motor for that reason. I've seen a few grenade & whats left afterwards.

Blowers, turbos, NOS, cams, stroker kits, any performance part that you want to use to make your vehicle go faster is fine w/ me. I don't race for money, so it don't matter to me. :D

I just didn't like being refered to as lame. :?

SATURN5- Thanx for all the info. Its really cool for you to share it. When I get closer to seeing this project thru, I'll really want to pick your brain! :D

No problem...

I am currently shaking the bugs out of the Twin setup.

Just blew a rubber hose connect tonight.. think I scared some poor lady half to death when it let loose next to her car at full boost..
Boost droppped from a little over 12 to 6 ish...

time to pick up some reinforced silicone connects..

Been gone a bit, the blueprints were (I think) $25.00 US. That was the four or five prints in one binder. frame/front end/rear end/etc. It also came with the print to put in a jag rear end. Very interesting and informative! It starts out by showing what you need for this chapter. 22ft of 1" tube/6ft of 2X2 square tube/ etc. You get all that together, cut where they say, and weld it together.
I can't find the binder right now as I'm packing up and moving the 30th of June. Maybe I'll show you in July!Lol!

I didn't call you lame, I called the arguement lame. I missed the joking part and I apoligise if you thought I was verbally attacking you. Too many people still really do think nitrous is cheating :(

-=Whittey=-

Nitrous is cheating. I want to cheat NOW. When the bottle runs out, I have a Plan B
Plan B:I'd like two blowers NOW.
Plan C:I'd like a couple of turbos to get the boost I can't get with the two blowers.
Plan D:And a DOHC head
Plan E: And a good six speed gearbox would be nice.

I was looking for some medication. SATURN5, Whittey, 46stude...I feel sooooo much better know.

Is running an ALCOHOL motor because you work at a distillery and can buy it at COST cheating?

Good, I thought so

John

The only cheating I'm concerned with is when someone steals the coil wire off your 6 so he don't have to sit back & see his beloved 8 get beat like a red-headed step-child!

Whittey- my apologies for biting your head off. Its all good.

X- I thought you were "cutting back" on FSP. Need the medication only the forum can offer, huh?

This place is never boring.....

Ok, my 2 cents; I'm a bracket racer so I obviously don't like nitrous(too inconsistent), or blower(hard to keep engine cool when hot lapping in later rounds), turbo(too much heat in eng comp and inconsistent too) or being under carb'd.(weather changes effect the motor more)

Watched MANY guys think if they cut a bad light they can make it up with a little hit, then they break out.

Chev 6cyl are bad for detonation so I wouldn't run one of them.(or anything other than a ford for that matter)

Raced against many Buick GN's and was impressed with their times...but they were never around in the later rounds.(and they sound like hairdryers on crack)

Racing my 300 last year I found it quite consistent, BUT, depending on how hard you held the pedal on the floor, would change the shift point from 4000 to about 4200-4300. That extra 300rpm was after it nosed over and would slow the truck 4 or 5 thou.

All the nitrous, turbo's, other crap, etc, is only usefull in heads up racing. And any time you have heads up racing it boils down to one thing $$$$$$$!!!!
You do whatever you want to your 4cyl and I'll build a 6cyl, you get a 6,I'll get a 8,you get a $10,000 small block, I'll beat you with a $15,000 bigblock........who ever has the biggest cheque book wins......whatever,not for me.

I'd like to find a 60-61 Falcon with a 6 and auto, put in 4.86's and slicks and have fun CONSISTENTLY!

Well...that was more than 2 cents....but the dollar up here is only worth 65 cents so I had to make the most of it!!
