boostin a 300

hey i got a 89 4.9 how hard is it to supercharge or put a turbo in it

Just keep turning it up, then you will let us know I am sure.

But seriously it depends ofn the quality of the gasket, how clean the block and head were when installed, ..... all kinds of stuff.

I am sure you are asking about your 85 300 truck. So tell us more about it.
Did you just find a stock 300 truck with 60k on it and put a turbo on it?
Or did you build the engine especialy with a turbo in mind?

well at first it was a 85 w/t 82,000miles all stock i added a turbo. but now i am building the 300 for turbo-ing..... i know that 10psi@2,000RPM is way too much boost..... but my rings were 22years old but only had 82,000 miles..............

really i think im asking if my felpro head gaskit would hold up to about 10-12PSI @ 4,000-4,500 RPM...... i have new chormoly rings and new forged piston........ should i do about rod? and should i stud the head or would the stock bolts be good for 10-12 PSI with 8.3:1-9.1:1cr

Supercharged300,
Everything depends on the how well you know how to tune the motor.
A totally stock motor will handle 10lbs. of boost just fine if you don't have any detonation issues. Even the cast pistons will hold up!
However as soon as you get greedy with the boost, or can't afford the premium fuel, or mess with the tune, the carnage will begin.

Later,
Will

well the turbo i have came off an old L6 flathead dodge so i didnt think that it would be high boost so.....
i do want alots of power and i really would like it to last this time......

BTW that turbo was pushing 10PSI @ 2000RPM with no rings and the intake valves being blow open at the wrong time........
