hey guys,

on my i6 200 i have a breather cap and a pcv valve. they were on the car when i got it. i see some pics of builds na d engine bays and some guys dont have breather caps..or pcv valves....are they necessary, and what purpose do they serve? better off with or without them.....if this is a dumbass question..sorry im new to the classic car game.

most who don't race only, and ususally see 'gases' smoke come out the tops... those that do drive it daily find it to be better pedal response with pcv and breather

I myself have tried a few configs, I like it with with a breather connected to the bottom of air filter, and pcv connected to the manifold vacuum.
