Carb adapter

My daughter gave me her 66 coupe, It has alot of original parts and I am told I am the third owner. I am excited about cleaning it up and getting it running. The problem I have is that the carburetor is not an autolite 1100, I believe it is a holly 1940. I understand there are adapters to use so the carb seats properly and works. Right now, the linkage will not opperate while the carb is bolted down. Where can I find an adapter that will fit this thing? When I looked up the part code on the manifold it says it is a falcon part. the code is c6de-6090-b. I have tried my local mustang store and a junkyard. I am just short of buying the pony card 1100 vaporizor. What are my options. Thanks for the help. Wayne

If you could find a way to provide a picture is would be easier to make suggestions on a fix for you. I recently installed a 1940 on my 63' Falcon and was able to adjust the linkage without too much trouble after the install.
