From the listing I found this carb is originally from 1972 6 200 A/T Maverick Carter YF 6236 S my question
is would it work on a 200 with a manual trans?
Thanks!
Probably yes, you did not mention the year of your 200 and some of the early engines do have a different bolt spacing and smaller bore dia. So be sure to measure your old carb to compare it. The new carb could be slotted to fit and as long as the bore of the intake is big enough not to bind the throttle blade your good to go otherwise you may need to do some grinding to open up the base.
Good point about the bore I checked that an they are both 1 3/4. What would be the difference between a Carter YF for the same model & year where one is listed for an auto and one for a manual?
The major difference it's has extra linkage point to hook up the kick down lever (passing gear) to down shift the auto trans. This would not be an issue it would not be hooked up. Could be a slightly different tune too as in the float level, and jetting all those things could be worked out. Though if its totally stock engine and your paying the full price for a new or rebuilt unit or you don't want to be putting the extra time in working out those miner things than that case it might be best to hunt little more for the right one. Good luck
