For all the people who have put headers on (which I'm about to do), what is the best way to modify the auto choke tube that previously fit into the stock manifold? I read that some people take copper tubing and wrap it around one of the header tubes so that it take in the heat that way. Does this work well and are there any other ways of modding it?

Use brake line or gas line tubing and bend it so it lays on at least 3" of header tube. Use a hose clamp to keep it place. Has worked for me on older cars that for years.

At a speed shop, you can also get a little metal, arch top collector that you secure to the tube with a hose clamp and run a little tube to the choke.

I ran a piece of copper tube down along the header and wrapped it with an inside piece of an aluminum can to look nice. One hose clamp is all it took, looks good and works great.

Yeah I just finished installing the header a couple of days ago. I too ran the copper tubing down and around. I managed to sort of tuck it away so you can't really see it, and it seems to be working properly.

In other news, my Flowmasters aren't coming until next week so I'm currently running open headers. WOW, those things are freakin loud!!! It sounds great until I push on the accelerator, then my head feels like it's going to explode.
