So i have some carbs to rebuild, and some are pretty darn grubby and corroded (at least on the outside). is there a good way to clean all that off? i thought about carb cleaner and a nylon or soft brass brush, but i'm thinking maybe i can take it to someone (after disassembling it) and have it dipped or something, might be better. don't know, what do you guys think?.

If you can find the gallon dip bucket of carb cleaner, I typically leave a carb in that stuff for two weeks and it comes out beautiful.

If you want to dip it in something, Purple Power for no more than 24 hours, the stuff has some corrosive properties and will eat the metal away if you leave it for a week like the carb cleaner. Make sure you remove any plastic or rubber from the carb before doing either
