comp results, kinda

i started doing a comp test and before the gage broke i got these results up to the 4th cylinder #1=155, #2=125,#3=130,#4=130, it did have an internal coolant leak, i tightened up the head bolts and it went away but still gets a little hot but not overheat on the freeway, i think my head gasket is blown, what do you all think

Ran into this myself last week.

69.5mav 170-L6 3 Speed stick, 188K + 6.5% on the clock.

Car started to run bad. Inconsistant ignition.

Warmed the engine up pulled the plugs to do a compression test. 1=170, 2=170, 3=165, 4=135, 5=150, 6=170.

But what I found is that the plug tips were fouled by a white stone like deposit. This is consistant with coolant leaking into the combustion chaimbers. I check coolant level down by almost a gallon over about 10K miles. I scraped the deposits off the iridium plugs and the car runs fine now. I wonder if I could put distilled water in the radiator and use that as a surigate water injection system; not.

I'm going to retorque the head bolts, use some bars copper block seal and test the coolant system for leaks with a pressure tester before and after.

Do you have a shim head gasket or composit?

You might pressurize each cyclinder and see if any air comes out of the radiator or other places.

it is composite, the funny thing is that my engine runs very strong, i think ill do another comp test with a different comp tester. before i retorqued the head, i could see lots of bubbles in the radiator and i would have to top off the water every few days, after i retorqued, the bubbles went away and i dont loose coolant anymore. i have another composite gasket that i will install after i get some head studs
