Hey mustang geezer; Where did you get the tubing that you used on your ram air??

I got it from Car Quest. IIRC, it cost aroung $12.00 a tube :D

What modifications are needed to run the ram air tube? Do you cut a hole to the side of the radiator, and then clamp the other end onto the snout of the air cleaner? What do you gain from it?

Heres the link to my webpage that shows how to setup the ram air.

http://www.inlinepages.com/~inlinefever/ram_air.html As far as what I gained, more cool fresh air equals more horsepower and it looks cool too!

Mighty Flow air intake hose 18" long (Rt side intake) Pt# 96050.
Mighty Flow air intake hose 25.5" long (Lt side intake) Pt# 96052.

Both of these are listed for a 80's Ford Ranger. You just have to measure to see if you need the long hose or the short one.

I like the set-up. I have all the materials to pull it off, but I can't seem to fit it on the front section of the car. All the space its taken up with STUFF. Are there some alternatives? How do you keep water from entering into the engine?i.e. rainy days, water puddles....ZZ

Unless you are driving in a flood, water usually isnt a factor  If that worries you, take the lowest point of the system and drill a small drain hole there so if water does enter it, it will have some where to drain out.

Honestly though, I've only got caught in the rain 5 or 6 times!

If you cant run the intakes through the radiator support you can run them into the side aprons like the early 80's Mustangs and Capris did or you can run them into the cowl panel area like some of the old Camaros did.

Or you can even add a intake under the front bumper like the 5.0 March ram air system for the Fox body Mustangs.

Sounds good enough. The sheetmetal workers at the plant always have some cool fabrications I can use. So, If I set something up just below the front bumper the air being sucked up would be sufficient and possibly help in keeping water out

Yep,

Should work out allright like that

Post pics when you get it made!!

I used to have mine under the front valance like the March system. Never had a poblem. But, running it under there you will pick up a little dust which my filter always caught.

I think I still have some pics on my website.
