Cracked block?

My son came in the other night with a waterpump problem and overheated. I started replacing the waterpump and noticed that the block had about a 1" crack running along the side of the bolt hole that holds the waterpump. Is there any way to have this welded or fixed.

Thanks

Mike

8) clean the area, including the crack, thoroughly. then you want to cut a groove in the crack and fill it with JB weld. after it cures file it smooth.

I have never had any luck with the JB weld trick. It's worth a try though. The thermal expantion always gets the better of the repair. I would do the JB weld thing and start hunting for a block to transfer all your components to.
