Cyinder Boring

After closer inspection,I do have some scratches on the cylinder walls and was wondering how much can be bored before the block would be deemed unworkable.This block has never been bored before.Its a 200.

40 thou is usually a safe working margin, but one should go as little as possible. Using ultrasound to better locate the bore centres is one approach that may extend this amount, or allow more life under heavy usage, at the maximum overbore.

I believe the term was "sonic testing" my dad had his 331 hemi bored to a 354 I believe it was 120 thousandths, and had it sonic tested. but that was quite a few years ago...
